I have never worked in any Govt department in Pakistan but its not uncommon for badshah-loog (read generals, Chief Ministers, Prime Minister, CEOs of large corporations etc etc) to donate one day of pay from every single person in an entity to some charity or relief fund (such as one for current flood or one for earthquake).
Do they get consent for each employee before announcing any such pledge? If not, how can they deprive any person of one day or two days pay without getting consent? Can this be legally challenged?
There can be many reasons for any employee to NOT take part this wage garnished such has he/she might already have donated the money he/she can afford and badsha-loog might be denting employee’s budget by this pay-cut without any consent.
Off course if they get all employees to sign consent form then this issue is void and null.
