Hmm given that article is from 2004... I'm sure!
We work in carbon materials and have just started growing graphene layers. Not convinced about its usefulness in the real world (theoretically it looks good) but it brings in money.

I wish people would stop saying 'created'. They just discovered a simple way to isolate it.
And now, everyone and their right toe is is growing graphene layers using chemical vapour deposition on copper or nickel foil .
Geim delivered a graphene lecture at my Uni around the time he won the nobel prize. It was delivered in Comic Sans. Nuthin more to say.
