Once Upon A Time In America

Just watched this film again recently. It’s a great 1984 mob drama about 4 hours long. I loved the performance by DeNiro and James Woods (One of my favorites). Apparently took 10 years in the making. Check it out if you’re into these kind of movies.

*Is it better than "Goodfellas"? I haven't actually watched it yet, but I am planning to, since I am on a Robert De Niro movie spree these days! Damn it, he is a legend. Really. People, That Is All.*

I first saw "Once upon a time in Amreeka" back in Pakistan, many moons ago. Its one of my fav movies of all time. De Niro was honored with AFI Life Achievement Award on June 13th. I think USA channel had De Niro-moviethon last week or something and played most of his memorable movies. My fav De Niros:

Once Upon a time in America
Godfather: Part II
Analyze This/That
The Score
GoodFellas
Casino

And with Al Pacino "Heat". Thats also on my all time fav list.

Add yours.

Capfear is also a great de niro movie

I don't know, I liked Once Upon...... better. Goodfellas is a classic also though.

And yes, he was downright scary in Cape Fear. People, That Is All.*

y'all forgot Taxi Driver. Deer Hunter, Untouchables and mean streets as some of deniros great work. Once upon a time is a great movie, I have to get the DVD

Thrown in Meet the Parents.. and if you're strong enough to see DeNiro like that.. Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Saw it ages ago. Very good film but I think DeNiro's performance in Cape Fear would be pretty hard to beat.

Xtreme

I still think taxi driver and deer hunter were his best performances.

How come I've never heard of this film? I love Robert De Niro....must put in on my list of films to watch.

Great film I love epics.

DeNiro great in most of his movies I saw Awakenings again recently and mean streets good range of acting, the only actor who comes close is dustin hoffman (marathon man to tootsie).

Amongst the new lot edward norton's doing well.

Agreed.

Fraudz, I can't even remember Deer Hunter it's so long since I saw it apart from Christopher Walken also appearing, another fave actor. Haven't seen Taxi driver for one reason or another, why I mentioned Cape Fear was just that the charcter was so weird.
