Pakistan’s electoral politics is becoming more and more silo’s driven by ethnicity if you look at the trend of the last few elections. Most political parties are cashing in on their visible ethnic / regional clout and further weakening the federation for simple lust for power.
Punjabi voting Punjabi
Sindhi voting Sindhi
KPK voting Pathans
Karachities voting Mohajirs
Balochistan voting Baloch Nationalists
Most political parties are doing politics of exploitation and are looking ahead as far as a day or two - aka survival mode!
Is Performance, Competence, Clean Character, No Corruption, Ideology and Party Manifesto no longer the basis for Pakistanis to vote any political party?
Let’s share:
- Who you voted?
and
- Why you voted any political party?
Your logic and reason - please and thank you!
Re: On what basis do you vote in elections? Sect, Biradari, Ethnicity etc?

Pakistan doesn't have a direct election presidential system. If all candidates in a constituency in KPK are Pathan or in Sindh are Sindhi, you don't really have a choice to vote in another way.
The only parties which overtly run election campaigns on ethnic basis are mqm and people's party in Sindh. I hope this would also end soon.
