If humans were incapable of having any pride would we be happier people? Does our pride come in the way of developing solid, healthy relationships? If we were all more honest about our feelings and did not play games for fear of what the outcomes of our words might be or what other people think of us, would the world be a better place?
honey forgive i, but jus wat on earth is u on about?

i think ur mixing ego and pride... ego is what keeps an athelete running , competing for the first place to the point where he/she breaks her leg. Pride is the feeling of unity/supperiority u feel ...the feeling of belonging that makes u work as a group.
Both qualities like any human attribute come in flavours. complete humbleness is stupidity and ego comparable to a god...insanity.
ultimately it is this variety, this unpredictablity... this mixture of stupidity and insanity that keeps brewing the excellence in human race... we are gods as a whole unit because of our constant struggle to shine next to our shadows.
lol gamma u is funny man u iz so funny i is laffin
i think what you mean Cat, is that if we were more honest, natural and 'ourselves' most of the time life would be much easier, happier and healthier..? you're right to some extent since that would remove all the frustrations and tensions but on the other hand if we stop caring about what we do or say and pay no **** about what other people would think we'd somewhat turn into uncivil beings. we keep away from a lot of things we should keep awya from not because we are angels but a lot of time just because we're held back by 'what will they say..?'
far as pride and ego are concerned i think a little bit of both are a must and they make us human and like everything else, too much is no good.
I try to be honest and open about my feelings and emotions but it is often misunderstood...sometimes it's just better to shut up, suck it in and move on.

It should be:
You are funny man, I am laughing :)
^ Frankly I think GD's English is worse.
Haris, yes you seem to understand what I'm saying. I guess I should be more specific, what I actually meant was the mind games we play by guessing what the other person is thinking, especially when it comes to relationships between guys and girls. I do think people hold back from expressing themselves for fear of rejection or just saving ones pride. I think we all need to take more risks.
mind games are essential i think

yeah i agree with u cat... a lot of us dont say what we feel.. and make up stories instead... and the stories are usually to do with.. 'oh i didnt want to hurt u....' but thats stupid...
the thing is... we are all very protective of our feelings... as a friend of mine said.. he cant stand the thought of knowing that theres someone out there who knows exactly how he feels... and therefore he never confesses to what he really feels... hes so protective of himself.. in a wierd way.. that he seems cold and heartless.. (he's not really...) and generally what happens is that gals think of him as a player.. or someone who is playing mind games with them... which aint really the case.. its just he's not sure whether to share his feelings.. or hide them..
i know a lot of us think we'll be much happier if we just dropped our egos and said what we really felt... but trust me.. sometimes its just better to keep it to urself... (not always... but sometimes)
