on the sets of forthcoming film: sukh

  • Govinda has finished the shooting of his first home production ‘Sukh’ under the banner of M/s. Govinda Entertainment No. 1 in a span of 26 days.

The film directed by his brother Kirti Kumar (of ‘Hatya’ fame), stars Govinda, Chunkey Pandey, Preeti Jhangiani, Aarti Chabria, Sharad Saxena amongst others.

At a press conference organized at Panvel, Govinda, the producer seemed very much at ease as he introduced his starcast and technicians.

Everyone seemed to be in high praise for the newfound producer. Aarti Chabria said, “He is very organized and it is my privilege to be a part of his home production” Chunky Pandey added, “He is a maker, not a producer. He participated in the making of every aspect in the film. This is our first film together after ‘Aankhen’ and we will try to repeat the history of delivering another hit.”

Govinda was too modest to accept the praise, “It was a good and pleasant experience as a producer but the credit goes to my entire team without which nothing would have been possible,” he said, but was quick to add, “I realized how a producer feels when an actor comes late on sets. I vow not to be late on other producers’ sets from here on.”

Chi Chi (as he is fondly called) had his edgy moments as well. He said humorously, “Initially I was worried and scared as to why the shooting was getting over so quickly but thankfully found all was well to my satisfaction.”

Director Kirti Kumar had all praise for his younger brother that he has immensely matured as an artiste and it was a delight working with him.

Jackie Shroff makes a special appearance in the film. And Govinda is indebted to him for this because he refused to charge me a penny for this.

The story revolves around Chandraprakash (Govinda) and a photographer (Chunkey Pandey) and their wives, the sensitive, impulsive Bhavna (Aarti Chabria) and the typical Indian housewife, who loves her husband despite knowing his shortcomings (Preeti Jhangiani).

Govinda concluded, “Through ‘Sukh’ I am looking for a change in image. The idea of having a production house stemmed from the fact that I was getting sick of doing the same comedy and dances, again and again. I want to grow as an actor. Frankly, I reached a saturation point.” *

** mods’ plz don’tmerge my bolly threads, as they r all different topics **

how do you say "flop" in hindi?

What sort of a lousy cast is that? Isn;t Govinda disaster enough on his own that they paired him up with this panda creature.

*govinda isn't a disaster at all, watch his films from 90's onwards he is the best comedian there is in indian cinema its a shame he hasn't even received a single award for his comical roles in films like sajan chale susraal, and many more govinda rules he is gr8 down to eartyh guy hasn't forgotten how he was b/f entering indian cinema unlike some nowadays anyways those who can't c and appreciate his talent don't know wat they r talking about *

^ those were all flops let us chat.. i reckon one of the most talented comedians would have to be paresh rawal..

govinda just makes me puke when i see him dancing with girls half his age... remember the time when rishi kapoor and AB were doing all the wrong films according to their age? now finally they're doing father figure roles.... maybe govinda should do the same...

Tell me about it Sadz! Most of his movies were flops. They only get popular with the cheap mentalities. Cannot even bare to think of him dancing thrusting his pelvic bones here and there. Absolutely gross! If he hasn't recieved an award it's for a reason. Humility and modesty are not what film awards are about.

yeah FF! i cant recall one Govinda movie i actually enjoyed… i cant remember one which i watched in full either…

oh man my cousin made me watch this govinda song on repeat about 5 times.. :shudder:

Chunky “Lafanga” as my friend likes to call him… hasnt made a decent movie since Tezaab… infact has he made any in which he IS the main character and the movie has done well?
