my cousin raised this question that “WHY WAS PROPHET MOHAMMED (S.A.W) GIVEN THE PROPHETHOOD AT THE AGE OF 40 AND NOT EARLIER”

your cousin has way too much time to be investigating topics of no significance..
i understand that mr. namesake but it is a question raised at all times now by people of different religions and i believe that being a muslim i should know how to respond appropriately to these kind of ?'s so plzzzz tell me how to reply to this particular ?.

are you saying that Prophet Mohummad (pbuh) became Prophet after the age of 40? different sunnis have different opinion on this but we the shia believe that Prophet Mohummad (pbuh) was a born Prophet...Prophets don't need any education or training to become Prophet of Allah
He (SAW) was born a Prophet but was Given the Prophethod later.

why not earlier?..........................well what i have read is that all prophets were given prophet hood at or after 40 yrs..........and man totaly mature with due experiance at this age ................

Why not earlier you ask? Does it really matter, prophethood couldve been assigned to him at earlier year but it wasnt, Allah azwjal chose it to be this way.. The only thing matters is we got Muhammad sallahu alayhi waslams message loud and clear..
