Masha’Allah. He was highest wicket taker in 2007 T20 and still by margin the highest wicket taker along with Afridi, by the grace and mercy of Allah (swt).
He is the only bowler with 5 wicket haul and three 4 wicket hauls. Also his economy is the best of all the bowlers who have played more than 5 games. Makes me wonder if he were an Indian what giant would Indian media have made out of him.
He got injured and didnt play a game for 2 years after this game. I think he has been the defacto pace lead of the team since the steroid scandal. Even if for some reason he does not always get the first over.

The BCCI might have hoped that Pakistanis wouldn't improve much after not given opportunity of playing with international cricketers in IPL, but even without playing cricket in IPL and also not much international cricket for a year, yeh he put Ishant and RP singh into shades.
RP singh should be thankful that umar gul didn't play in IPL otherwise his purple cap would have been in danger.
