I think it was a pathetic movie! I remember during the whole movie he keeps on saying that he is a refugee neither Pakistani neither Indian. And when the PAkistani soldier says something about India... HE is like KAMINAY TUM NAY MERI BHARAT MAAN KO BURA KAHA. Grabs his gun and kills the Pakistani soldier.
Contrary to most people I’ve talked to… I actually liked the movie and thought it was a pretty decent movie – yes, the acting from anyone other than Anil Kapoor and Abhishek (to some extent – he’s improving…), wasn’t the greatest… but I thought the movie brought out the lifestyle and values of a very well-knit Indian family. Personal goals, family honor, individual mistakes, and compromises… I think the movie does a good job of putting things in perspective. I just found the notion of love in the family much more bearable than the normal ghissi pitti Indian boy meets girl love story.
I, for one, would recommend it to anyone who wants to watch it on video. Not a theatre movie definitely… a 7/10 from moi – and a

Yeah, I liked Bachan's role in refugee, I mean c'mon he is a 'refugee' which is why he said he's neither nationality. I liked his role Not for what you mentioned but just the character. As far as patriotism goes I didn't really give a hoot; i mean what else would you expect of indian movies? An indian will always strive for his country as any other nationality would. Anyways, its still on my choice list, oh yeah before I forget that was one role where Kapoor was wearing clothes as opposed to other movies.
What boggles my mind is if you find these kind of movies pathetic, why support their industry? I mean, on one hand your message that comes across is Pakistani this and that but on the other your watching them? Don't you find anything wrong with that? I personally dont care for patriotism but if in your shoes before critiquing I'd atleast be sure of what side I'm on. Right?

It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.
I am proud to say that I havent watched a single Indian movie for about 4 months now! Alhamdullilah! And I used to be an Indian movie freak!
After the millitary escelation by both countries, my thinking was people need to take sides and I stopped watching Indian movies and going to Indian show.
The Hritik Show, I had back stage passes as I had some part in accomodations for the stars in Detroit. But I refused to go as I heard they raised money for the army!
