I am not sure about Sigma SD9, but in the 5+ megapixel range, the competition is:
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F707 and 717
Minolta DiMAGE 7i and 7Hi
Fuji FinePix S1 Pro
This is professional grade digital camera, and full of features. My personal favorite will be Minolta DiMAGE 7i, due to its immense features and solid quality, plus ofcourse I like its looks. Sony is also highly rated and is slightly cheaper.
By the way, if you insist on buying the Olympus E20, the prices range a lot over the internet. For Olympus E20N, Yahoo! Shopping shows a range from $1,095 to $1,999.
Turns out that for this camera, the cheapest online store is Montana Cameras which is in New York. This is the same place I bought my Olympus digicam too, over the internet, as they had the lowest price. Their service was pretty good. :k:
By the way, take care not to buy Olympus E20*P. Make sure you buy E20N. The 'P' model will record in PAL mode, whereas in US, you will want to buy a camera which records in NTSC, which is E20N*.
Waisay, I am totally surprised that for such an expensive camera it only has 4x Optical zoom. I am a big zoom person, and therefore this seems a bit too small. My, much cheaper digicam has 10x optical zoom. I imagine you can increase this by purchasing a tele-lens separately.

I am shopping around for the prices and as you reported, these vary. What will get me are the insurance and the power battery kit … the later increases the size of the camera, but gives you lots of power .. which i may need when i am back in ma pind shooting my majjan .. 
ohh .. and dont forget the ibm 1 gig drive to store dem photos … mar gaya ghareeb ka bacha … kher … dekha jaye ga …

sounds and looks like a nice cam...but if i was goin for a high MP camera id go for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F707 or 717. I dont know why...im just more impressed by its deisgn and ease...although i havent used the cam ur talkin about.
Anyway please show us the images you take! I wanna see what this baby can do.
