Just ahead of the Olympics another controversy hits Pakistan sports. This is insulting.

Fake passports and forged visas are hardly any news in Pakistan. There are just too many loopholes in the system that are always open for exploitation for anyone who is inclined to do so. But it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to ensure security of such sensitive systems when officials on the safeguarding duty become part of the problem.
What kind of repercussions this scam may have over Pakistan's Olympic campaign, is anybody's guess. Pakistan might have not won any Gold in the Games, but this development surely confers another dubious distinction on us.
Who is this Abid Chodhary by the way? False passports, false visas, and in this case a letter from the sports board showing this guy as an official (for a price of 1.5 lac rupees) this corruption will land Pakistan into big trouble one of these days.
Its funny they are implying that there are no terrorists living in UK who could do the undesired. I am glad that a fake passport/visa ring is busted. Did our government take any action after that?
Wait how did he get a visa? The British authorities out source their visas to Dubai. If he got a visa for the UK doesn't that essentially means the British High Commission is in on it?
I don't think that is possible Amal. So you mean to say a Grade 17 officer can write a letter and the British Consulate will just honor it? So why are there not millions of government officials living in the UK.
My concern is not that a jali passport was made. Afghans have them here and they have never lived in Pakistan. My concern is the involvement of the British Embassy. As a diplo-brat I have seen EU and Western Embassies turn away official government requests for visas and such all the time. That is why I am confused.
Pakistan’s Olympic chef de mission Aqil Shah dismissed The Sun‘s claims.
*“These are baseless reports,” Shah told *AFP. “This is an attempt to malign Pakistan. Even if someone gets a passport he cannot enter the Olympic Village without an Olympic accreditation card.”
**who is this Abid Chaudary??? never heard of his name before
for some strange reason this news does not make any sense to me, yes we have heard about fake visas/passports, but if im not wrong you can even get them in UK as well right?
for instance, one gets these fake documents made in Pakistan, but isnt it British embassy that will issue visas?
Fake visas and Passports can be obtained anywhere in the world..not just Pakistan...!
and a visa shouldn't be "just" a formality....I have been refused visa to the UK when I already had a work permit, and a contract from work...I had all the necessary docs, but had to apply a second time for it!
