Re: olympic countdown

What are South Asia's chances of winning any medal over there? I think together, we are bigger than China. But there is no comparision between SA and China.

Re: olympic countdown

India won only a silver medal at the Athens Games. Pakistan won their last in the 1992 games. Sri Lanka won a bronze at the Sydney games.

Re: olympic countdown

so any chances of our hockey team to perform :hinna: ??

Re: olympic countdown

Infact India has been winning a solo medal since the Altanta games. But that's only a peanut as it is the 2nd largest country of the world.

That will only be a miracle.

Re: olympic countdown

Most of the south asian atheles at Beijing would be on a wild card entry.

Do not believe in **miracles - rely on them **:halo:

Looking forward to track and field events especially the sprints.

Re: olympic countdown

Indians are looking forward to win a medal in boxing. Pakistan's standard of boxing has sharply declined during last 5 years. They very poorly performed in Doha Asiad in December 2006.

Re: olympic countdown

i don't see Australia going good this Olympics. we usually always start off as number 1/2 and gradually drop down to 4-6. but this time around, with a few top star athletes being injured and dropping out, i see Australia barely in the top ten.

we will see what happens.

I'm just glad the gold medal in basketball will be returning to the U.S. thanks to Coach K and the "Redeem Team".

A South Korean reporter got footage showing a practice run of of the openingceremonies . It looks very impressive. Reportly China is spending $300 million on the opening ceremonies and over 10,000 people will take part.
