I use olive oil as a moisturizer and hairdressing because I heard it’s a Sunnah, I was wondering if it’s okay to use it on the delicate eye area? Also what types are best suited for cosmetic use? And is there any way of neutralising the smell, it’s not too strong or unpleasant but it can be a bit awkward in some situations.
It's okay to use a very light thin coating around the eye area, being careful not to pull the skin too much though. It really depends on your skin type too, if it's too oily for your skin then you'll soon realise it as you'll get milia spots (in an extreme scenario)
I doubt that you can neutralise the smell of pure olive oil though, extra virgin and virgin olive oil does tend to have a stronger odour than normal olive oil though.
If it really bothers you then try mixing it in equal quantities with sweet almond oil, which is also very beneficial for the skin.
