i keep hearing controversial information about olive oil.
here is what i found
Uncooked olive is very healthy, but adding heat to olive oils transforms its chemical structure and releases radicals and unhealthy substance
Research has shown that most pure olive oils have “smoking points” (at that point the chemical structure of fats and oils is changed when heated beyond the smoking point) ranging from 250 to 468 degrees Fahrenheit. Basically, the oil can burn and ruin what you are cooking. If you notice that your pan with olive oil looks like it is smoking, then the heat is too high.
its good for salad dressing and all but NOT for Cooking, and i have been using olive oil for a while now this is y i am not loosing weight .. how many of u using olive oil for cooking and deep frying?
I had heard that it has no benefits if its cooked at high temp, but did not know it was unhealthy for you. But have never deep fried in Olive oil, I use Canola for deep frying
Ok, since my dad had heart problems last year we have ditched all oils and use only olive oil...we use it for cooking, grilling, baking etc....not for frying though...
but i dont understand..when you say its bad for cooking-it doesnt mean its bad for your health does it? So i get the fact about the smoke point etc but still is it not good to use then for cooking-does it actually do any damage to ur health??
