**UK:A 97-year-old woman is seriously ill in hospital after she was robbed and thrown to the ground for a loaf of bread. **
She was visiting a relative in Dennistoun, in the east end of Glasgow, when a man grabbed her from behind and pushed her to the pavement.
Her attacker escaped with her bag, which contained only the bread.
Detective Constable Des Thompson, who is leading the hunt said: "This was a cowardly attack on the elderly woman who had nothing else in her bag apart from a loaf of bread.
"One man came to the woman’s aid and has spoken to the police. " Woman, 97, mugged for loaf of bread No this is not Baghdad or Fallujah but on the streets of UK a so called civillised country, old woman mugged for a loaf of Bread how low can this nation go when they have people like this in thier midst and this the same country telling Iraqis how to live their lives!
The real question here is who has the most to gain by mugging this old woman?
The hidden hand here is the hand of Radical Islam! By creating this incident, then posting it on a largely Muslim web site to discredit Scotland, it clearly show that the incident was designed by the Radicals of Gupshup to embarrass the poodle Blair! Transparent!

Unfortunately this isn't the worst story today by far. You need to take these things in stride ak, if people didn't they would never leave their homes. You posted this article for some type of political point (it was lost on me) not because you felt sympathy for the woman. I don't see how that’s any better than those posting silly remarks.
Wait a minute now. The article says:

What kind of bag was it? Did the robber know that the bag only contained a loaf of bread? Maybe it was a big enough bag that the robber also thought it had cheese in it. Maybe the "bag" was really her purse. Maybe she tried to sneak a small loaf of bread out of a restaurant in her purse. Maybe the robber was surprised when he looked inside and saw only a loaf of bread.
But, if this robber knew that all the old lady had was a loaf of bread, I think ravage is right. It must have been marble rye. People will do almost anything for a fresh loaf of marble rye.
^^ Maybe the mugger was actually a MI6 agent, who thought that the lady with a head scarf was actually a al-qaeeda agent with an IED in the bag, the agent was not sure and didn't want to embarrass himself by making a false arrest so decided to run away with the bag and look at the contents.
In fact AK is always very happy when he finds any single incident somewhere in the world very common to his national streets. At least that way he feels some proud in his ethic, that his nations are not very far behind.
