Old Name - New Name

I am trying to make a list of all the names of towns/countries of the world and their old names and new names.
If all that read this post can add something to my list I will be very grateful.

  1. Cathay - China
  2. East Pakistan - Bangladesh
  3. Ceylon - Sri Lanka
  4. Tanganyka + Zanzibar - Tanzania
  5. Siam - Thailand
  6. Mumbai - Bombay - Mumbai
  7. Lawrencepur ( In Pakistan ) - ??
  8. Lylpur ( Pakistan ) - ??

Please make corrections if I have made mistakes.
Mostly I am interested in older changes. for example changes during the age of empires. Pre-Islamic etc.

Londinium = London (UK)
Daebal = Karachi
Bombay = Mumbai
Yasrub = Madina
Nikko = Japan (now tranform as Nikkon for Japan in Japanese)

Beijing also known as Peking.

Persia - Iran

Burma - Myanmar

Madras- Chennai (note that Chennai was the original name, changed to Madras and now back to Chennai)

Kolkatta - Calcutta (Same story as above)
