yai YOUGURT kaisai ghar mai banatai hain:blush:

Re: ok dont laugh:snooty:

:smilestar: itna bhi nahin pata

Waisay ghar main bananay ki kia zaroorat hai jab bana banaya mil jata hai

khair, here’s what I do
1 lt. milk
1 heaped tbsp yogurt
2 tbsp dried milk powder

Mix them well, over low heat until it reaches body temprature.. you can check the temp. on the back of your hand or wrist, like you used to check the doodhoo of your son.

Then transfer to a container… I prefer matti ka bartan
cover and keep it in warm place for 4-5 hrs. or until it sets.

Re: ok dont laugh:snooty:

ITs hit & miss in my case. Sometimes dahi comes out fine other times its pattla pani :frowning:
I am doing something wrong so won’t give out my tarkeeb

Re: ok dont laugh:snooty:

Sadaf i first heat the milk as u said like our body tempreture and then put off it from the heat and then add the yougert, its first time i heard to add yougert before heating ,i will try this too.

Re: ok dont laugh:snooty:

^ i thought it never made any difference whether you add it before heating or after

good luck.. and let me know which way is right… I might be wrong.

Re: ok dont laugh:snooty:

use the correll (spelling?) bowls…they are usually the umm white, ceramic, bowls. use homogenized milk, whole preferable, or the 3%. skim is a no no. then pour it into the bowl, boil the milk (i use the microwave) until all of the milk gets a good through boil. might take like 7, 8 minutes of zapping. cool it down so it’s just around room temp, a lil’ bit hotter might be ok. it has to be so you can dip your finger into it, and not scald it, but can still feel the heat. then take about 3 salan wala chamchay of the yogurt…smooth it down, and and stir it into the milk. and lid the bowl.

in the winter, i just out it over the vent, so the warm air from the vents can help the bacteria grow. in the summers, place it in the oven, really close to the light, and turn the light on. let it be for like 6 hours atleast. winters, your yogurt will be ready in about 3 hours…(depending on your thermostat)…summers will take time.

Re: ok dont laugh:snooty:
