How to get rid of them? Between Misbah’s oily hands and frying something every week I have a few shirts with these stains and a regular wash doesn’t help.
Re: Oil Stains
I've yet to try it myself but i'll tell but i've heard ....
on a paper/newspaper spread some talcum powder n place the stained part over it ....now cover it again with paper n iron it...
talcum powder is supposed to absorb grease ...!!
on a side note ...try wearing apron!
Re: Oil Stains
I do wear an apron, which amuses the Mrs. but the long sleeves are still unprotected.
Anyway, I am kinda worried about talcum powder suggestion .. are you sure?

maybe you should cook food that doesn’t require frying… plus its not good for your health anyways :nono:
Re: Oil Stains
can’t say …i’ve heard it a lot …but never actually tried…!!
Re: Oil Stains
there is a thing called oxy-clean which u use along with the detergent when u wash ur clothes. there is another roll on thingy by tide to remove stains on the shirts.
Re: Oil Stains
I have heard the same about the talcum powder as Afia mentioned. I have never tried it though.
Re: Oil Stains
I have tried this talcum powder thing because once I caught my sky blue hijab dipped in a plate and had oil and haldi stains on it.. I had just sprayed some powder on it and then washed it with oxy-clean color bleach.. the stain was gone!
Re: Oil Stains
the powder can be sprinkled on and the garment placed under a peice of paper and ironed with a warm iron...the powder is supposed to draw up the grease
but some types of grease doesnt go with this...
I wash it was in washing up liquid because it breaks down the grease before putting in the washing machine
and the Oxy stuff works too
