oil stain..

on a white shirt. any ideas?

Re: oil stain..

If they are fresh use talcum powder. It will absorb as much as possible and then wash with a good detergent.

Re: oil stain..

Mostar well done cos I had oil all over my white linen trousers and I immersed with lots and lots of talcum powder and left them for a few days- i thne had them dry cleaned and to my sheer hapiness.............they came out sparkling white!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Re: oil stain..

Cover the stain generously with baby powder, then lay a piece of cotton cloth on top and iron is slowly over and over again, the powder will absorb the oil, and then wash with detergent. My MIL taught me this trick and its worked several times to success for me!

Re: oil stain..

yes and u can place a newspaper also instead of cloth it work too oil is absorbed by the paper same before talcum powder then papre on top then press hope the tips of guppies helped u out.

Re: oil stain..

omg I wore a white duppata somewhere last weekend and it has a few oily salan stains  yes im a messy eater…

is there anything I can do to salvage it or is it too late?

Re: oil stain..

Skitz , do the powder thing , it really helps with oil stains .... though if it has the salan stains , you should use a bleech immediately , turmeric is the main culprit , its color hardly goes away ... so you gotta be quick with washing your dupata out.

Re: oil stain..

^ I've heard if you dry the washed item in direct sunlight it helps fade away the turmeric stains.
