Re: Oil-less Chicken Curry

You need to post the pics so I can make a decision if I should go ahead with it or not . Btw what recipe you have tried ? The one that Sheyn have posted or something different ?

Re: Oil-less Chicken Curry

Half a cup does seem like a lot, but I don’t use more than that… probably more like anywhere between 1/4 to 1/3 of a small cup. Just enough oil to get the onions to brown (they don’t need to be drowned in oil). In the end, there isn’t much oil in the curry and I don’t need to stir from the bottom to get curry without oil.

Ok Nami, that grinder wali recipe , here you go:

Prepare your grinder, add half cup water, two chopped onions, one tsp ginger, one tsp garlic, 4-5 green chillies, one tsp salt or to taste , one tsp black pepper or red chilli powder which ever one your prefer, one tsp garam masala .... now grind it all to a very find paste .

Pour this mixture on the chicken pieces. Mix quarter cup fresh cream and leave it for half hour.

Now heat a pan and add the chicken and the mixture in the pot , cover it and cook it on lightest flame setting. Dont uncover it or stir it more then once every 15 minutes .. when the chicken is cooked , put off the flame... heat a coal piece , place it in a cup, place the cup in the pan , then pour half tsp oil on the koila, it will start smoking, immediately cover the pan and let the coal piece stay in for 15 minutes.

enjoy this dish with naan :@:

Re: Oil-less Chicken Curry

i always make oil less chicken curry or any curry, i'm used to it i guess, i have a nonstick pan from ummm what was the brand name.....????thinking....thinking...i don't remember now but it's perfect in not burning the onions while browning them and they don't stick to the pan. the oil less chicken curry would be for me only and when someone comes over i pile on the ghee to enhance the taste.
