Oil for HAIR

which oil is best to keep hair looking healthy/shiny/strong etc.?

how often do you use it ?

do most people leave it in overnite and take a shower in the morning ?

Re: Oil for HAIR

almond oil, sesame oil (sarson), olive oil, castor oil - i put these alternately, sometimes at the same time, and yep leave it overnight. Castor oil is really thick but excellent for the scalp, try warming it up before you apply it.

Re: Oil for HAIR

is there any oil that helps improve the thickness of your hair?

Coconut oil works for me. And sarson oil is also good but since I have very oily and sensitive skin so I always get pimples whenever I use it. Good for hair though but overall doesn't work for me.

hmm once in a week atleast

I do it sometimes but mostly just leave it for 2 hours at least and then wash my hair.

Larki: You should try coconut oil its really good for hair. Thinkness, shining everything you can get. Try to use it atleast once a week and see the results.

Re: Oil for HAIR

Olive oil is good for making your hair nice and shiny. What you do is warm a bit of oil up before you go in the shower. Rub it into your hair and wrap your head with a hot towel and let it just sit for about 20 minutes. Then go into the shower and wash it off. Your hair will be nice, soft and shiny. Don't use too much oil though or else you will smell like french fries.

My sister used coconut oil for years. She has extremely thick, curly hair and it worked very well on her.

Re: Oil for HAIR

thankyou everyone. :) really appreciate the advice :)

im sure you all have lovely hair masha-allah :)

Re: Oil for HAIR

Jojaba oil is also an excellent oil for strengthening oil, especially dry and coarse textured hair.

Leave oil on your hair for as long as possible, ideally overnight but certainly at least half an hour. If you're leaving it on overnight then don't forget to cover your pillow with a towel!

Re: Oil for HAIR

amla oil is really good too

i used to use olive oil… warm it up in the microwave for a bit. That makes the hair really shiny and soft. Amla makes it quite thick and luscious.. my plait has honestly doubled in size.. really healthy looking now :k:

coconut oil is pretty good too, but u need to wash it out thoroughly, otherwise the smell stays for awhile..

umm almond is also really good… and yeap i usually leave it in for about 2 hours before washing.. and overnight if its a weekend

Re: Oil for HAIR

Okay here is my own version of a mixture that I apply to my hair on a weekly basis. It works wonders for me. Hope it helps you.

1 egg
2 tablespoon of yogurt
1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon vinegar

Mix everything together let it sit for 5 minutes and then apply to your hair and wrap your head in a towel. Leave it on for 45-60 minutes and wash with your normal shampoo.
You will be InshaAllah amazed at the outcome.
It gives your hair sheen, volume, smooth and silkiness.

I will be putting a patent on this product and bring it to the market soon:)

^
Mahru.....I'll love to apply this but tell me one thing

who washes this towel afterwards....???

i mean, the towel u use for this one gets rid of the smell in washing...???

its a serious question ...

i soooo want to try the hot oil treatment too....but when i think of washing the oily towel ....i give up!!:(

Re: Oil for HAIR

Mahru, isn't the egg from the mayonnaise plenty enough?

Re: Oil for HAIR

Afia - That is why man invented washing machine. Who is saying wash it with hands. I just throw in the towel with the rest of the white towles and put bleach and that takes care of all the smell.

Belle: No since we are only using 1 tablespoon of mayo it is not enough. Too much mayo will cause hair to be coarse and a fresh egg makes it soft and supple.

Re: Oil for HAIR

I have this Indian ayurvedic oil called 'Sesa' which my mums friend got her - its really good and has like 30 herbs in it.

Re: Oil for HAIR

PSO (Pakistan state oil) is da best. no hair worries after using it.:D

Re: Oil for HAIR

There is no scientific proof that putting oil in the hair help strengthen them. Oil actually helps in trapping more dust particles and germs from the air.

Re: Oil for HAIR

Question… Sometimes the oil seems to act stubborn stays in the hair…any solutions to that? I mean sometimes I end up shampooing twice…There’s no use of oiling if you use twice the regular amount of shampoo u use…and what do u suggest for frizzy hair? Like I have wavy hair..and they would look good if they would be properly nourished etc etc…I was really fanatic about getting them straight, but the irons just don’t work on me or maybe I dunno how to properly use them..I’ve bought this SunSilk Straightening Shampoo & Conditioner..has anyone tried it before? Any suggestions…I want GOOD and healthy hair…:frowning: I really want to leave them open, but I can’t since they look dead…and they fall a lot…

HELPPPP!!! !:frowning:
