He was a Medical Doc n An Artist and I have been told I am a future Netter :roman:
I don’t know much about art as in name of artists n stuff but somehow have inherited bits of artist characters in me. I paint [used to], sketch [when im bored - still life] or abstract drawing sometimes but since med skool all went down the drain.
So, hin33, I would like to know more like history of some famous artist came by in the past, doesnt matter dead or still living. Open a thread on famous artists n one shall continue discussing on them. Post their work n one can critique - it will be more fun to hear from ppl who havent learned ART but yet are interested in it like me ]
hin, I don’t know much but still why would he make an exception to women? Wasn’t he at the forefront of the cubic movement/cubism? I mean that was his style, the harsh strokes so it makes sense that he would try to depict women in the same manner.
My first encounter or lets say the first time I saw such fugly masterpieces that you are referring to here was at Louvre and Mus’e d’ Orsay in Paris.
You haven't heard of Buffet or Professor Kano? and you call yourself an Artist? I think I need to open a thread here on the life and times of Professor Kano (Japanese) and Buffet (American).
Ok as you wish...I am kinda sleepless anyway...well just for a few minutes anymore anyway.
In the meanwhile you can read about Claude Monet.
Claude Monet was born in 1840 on November 14 in Paris. He grew up in LeHaver, near the sea. Even when he was young he was a very good artist. His pictures were so good that an art supply store let him hang his pictures in their window.
Monet's parents did not want him to become an artist because they thought he would not make a good living. That did not stop him though. When he was 20, he studied art at an inexpensive art school in Paris.
Monet often went on trips around France to paint. Sometimes, his friend Camille came along. Camille later became Monet's wife. They had two sons, Jean and Michel. In 1878, Camille got sick and died. A few years later, Monet got married again to a woman named Alice.
Later, Monet and his family moved to Giverny, a small town near Paris. This is where he painted his Impressionist wheatstack and cathedral paintings that became very famous. Their house also had a wonderful garden with a lily pond that had a Japanese bridge across it. These were his favorite things to paint. Monet died in 1926 in Giverny. Many people came to his funeral. Unlike many artists, he was famous even before he died. Now his house in Giverny is a museum that is visited by many people.
i feel like carving out an artist from urself too..
why stress so much on where they lived and what they ate.. how abt who they were… monet was a dreamer and he was a pioneer also in bringing abt the change from the realist style to the expressionist… he wasnt afraid of what ppl would say of his blobs of the paintings เว็บแทงบอล: เว็บแทงบอลที่ดีที่สุด อัตราต่อรองบอล Ufabet
as at that time some ppl called it.. he did his paintings for himself and for no one to agree and get praises from.. he suffered a lot of contradictions but as always . if there is truth in your work.. it shows.. he carried on with his expressionist style and later on began a movement.. along with others who followed his new way of seeing things..
I think there is an artist trapped inside me as well.
I was just giving a brief biography of Monet. I think it is important to do paintings for yourself, as you will be more passionate about them...it is that passion that all great artists possess.

yes indeed..
the passion and that fire inside is what wants to comeout in any way .. which later becomes .. art .
I know abt Claude Monnet, have seen a number of his paintings first hand but just saw that you posted abt Kano and Buffet, thanks :)
i never said i am an artist, so stop assuming. i am just a connoisseur of arts. :p
lol..ok...maybe when you mentioned that you wanted to learn Japanese or Chinese art of painting....I assumed that you were a painter already of a different sort.
I would to see your paintings....I have a feeling that you do paint in some way :)
