oh no...there's a wedding coming up

and I’m in a panic and on top I can’t give up eating chocolate cakes…and it’s raining here everyday so can’t go out for jogging/running.

May be I should write down my eating and exercise routine here everyday until 10th July? It might be motivating for me.

So I have 30 days to lose a size or two. I’m not concentrating on losing weight coz I’m still putting on muscles coz of weight training.

So I’m gonna update this thread tonight after the last session. You can join in if you like.

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

In my opinion you need to make sure you eat your evening meal but with minimal carbs and def cut out that tea time snack of cakes and replace it with a something no more than 100 calories.

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

yes...cut down on sweets for one month..and ull see a difference

Re: oh no…there’s a wedding coming up

awww I know, I’m so addicted to chocolate cakes these days. It was my eldest’s birthday cake so had to taste it, it was a small slice of 100g but contained too many calories.

thanks for the comment. :k:

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

Well that's where the discipline comes in. You can buy snack bars that are clearly marked as 99 or 100 calories. Just limit yourself to one a day. Also, portion size is important. You can still eat the cake but have a small slice. Might seem weird in the beginning but once you make your portions smaller and eat slower you will get used to it.

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

Buy a fitness rope. 10mins of rope-skipping burns more calories than 30-minutes of running.

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

What kind of biscuits did u eat that have 200 calories? If you can decide not to consume those, you've just cut down your current caloric intake by ~15%.

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

I'm gonna try skipping today, I'll see how it goes. Running and jogging has definitely improved my stamina.

chocolate biscuits. I must have around 1400 calories according to my age and height and current weight so I don't think it's gonna be a good idea to reduce the intake anymore but I agree with stoppit that I have to have right sort of calories so from now on I'm watching my fats carefully.

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

Calories are just a unit of energy in the body. If you are trying to lose weight, you can use fat for energy instead (which is essentially what happens when you are trying to lose weight). Whatever energy-enriched molecule circulating through your blood (calories) is what fuels your exercise. It lasts a short time, and after it depletes, the body breaks down fat for energy (which is your goal, isn't it?). The only thing you need to be concerned about is ingesting the proper amounts of other essential nutrients (i.e. proteins & vitamins). Reduce caloric intake as much as possible for quicker results. The metabolism of fat will yield even more energy for your workouts than your actual diet.
Also, I forgot to add earlier.. rope-skipping is much more intense and might take a while to "get used to it" since most beginners seem to get tired within a couple of minutes. But since you say you've built up stamina, you may last longer. Let me know how it goes if you decide to skip rope.

Re: oh no…there’s a wedding coming up

^we need energy to burn energy, the whole point of working out and “required” calorie intake was to avoid crash diets.

Skipping is brilliant though…yesterday I did hardly 10 minutes.

Re: oh no...there's a wedding coming up

Hi hareem, I'm glad you have kept up with this but I think you are eating too little and not eating three good meals. For breakfast, no more just milk or cookies with tea. I want you to try eating one boiled egg, wholemeal toast with a little butter and some fruit. Don't worry about the calorific content too much. For lunch, on the days when you don't have something proper prepared, instead of heinz soup, make sure you have some wholemeal rolls available, make one with tuna and one with cheese and salad in them as you choose. Will be back with more later.

Re: oh no…there’s a wedding coming up

When there is an energy-deficit, fats will be broken down to provide energy (with or without a workout). If you ingest a diet to use its energy, then less fat will be metabolized (and if you don’t workout for at least 15-20 minutes, then no fat will be expended). Blood/sugar levels in a normal human body are always static (remaining at a constant concentration). Weight-loss routines require the depleting of normal blood/sugar (energy) levels after which fat is metabolized. Haven’t you seen those anorexic-skinny Africans who always win the marathons in the olympics? How do you think they last so long? Its because they ingest a fat-rich diet prior to running and the fat alone yields more than 80% the energy they require to run. 1 pound of fat contains enough energy to keep you running at a moderate pace for 7 hours non-stop. They hardly have any fat on their bones though.

Re: oh no…there’s a wedding coming up
