Michael Hussey - 79.68 average in test matches and **77.11 **average in ODIs. He is the best batsman in the world probably in terms of averages. Although I like Kevin Pieterson better.
Justin Langer is the top batsman, along with Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Symonds, Mathew Hayden and Martyn, and Adam Gilchrist. All the legends living among them so offcourse their team will be the best.
Michael Hussey is better than Kevin Pietersen. You rarely see him getting out for ducks, and becoming sum1s bunny. He also has a better technique and temperament.
He has a very good chance of breaking the record for most centures in a claendar year but he cant come close to the most runs. Before the current Ashes test started he had 1058 runs @ an average of 105.80 from 7 matches and had scored 6 centures from those 7 matches. He has already scored a century in the first innings of this match and unless Brits have a drmatic collapse I dont think Ponting will get a chance of scoring another one in the 2nd innings. But he still have 1 test and 2 possible innings after this test remaining in the calendar year.
After the home series against England, it was a fact that Yousuf is the second best batsman in Pakistan after Inzamam. A little over year, he is now the second best in the world trailing behind Pointing. What makes anyone think that he will not be able to surpass him?
Lahori munda , there are 5 test matches in the series he still has 3 to play in thats 6 innings plus the second innings of this match 7, so 5 hundreds and 2 double centuries and he can break youhana's record.
Infact Yousaf gets 50s and 100s more frequently than Ponting,it,s just that Ponting plays more matches per year.

I have said this before. The last Ashes test is in January and therefore does not count. Calendar year is from 1st Jan. to 31st Dec. So Ponting (7 hundreds this year) who failed in the first innings has a maximum of three innings to break Yousuf’s record of 9 tons. HIGHLY UNLIKELY if you ask me. Every Pakistani can take a sigh of relief as Ponting atleast cannot break this record this year... He has gone out for 7 in the 4th test 1st inning.. and now he has just 1 inning remaining for this calender year and he has 7 centuries... So no chance he can break it this year.
