Re: Oh my Gawd!!! Oh my Gawdd!!!
fruites of our pop music industry!
Re: Oh my Gawd!!! Oh my Gawdd!!!
^^ Pakpop, noway! This music was done by some well-known Lollywood musician. As hard as it is to believe, we actually have Shazia Manzoor on the vocals. The choreography, set designing is so avant-garde, it really amazes me what these people can accomplish with the zilch resources they have.
The lighting is a bit shoddy but thats hard to comment on given the z-grade print we have here. However DO WATCH out for the last 15 seconds of the song which are surely inspired by Japanese Anime....the femme fatale takes out the gun, shoots and escapes, all in slo-mo!
And btw, I actually liked the rather over-ambitious photography....!
Re: Oh my Gawd!!! Oh my Gawdd!!!
An awesome song really. It's that kind of song which you listen to in your teenage years and then can never forget.
Re: Oh my Gawd!!! Oh my Gawdd!!!
^^ Seriously. I think its one of the best songs to come out of Pakistan historically!!! The lyrics are abstract, and for once, the picturization does full justice to the song....not to mention that Resham is looking uber-cool!

Re: Oh my Gawd!!! Oh my Gawdd!!!
More like the Pakistani James Bond!
Re: Oh my Gawd!!! Oh my Gawdd!!!
This was before Syed Noor got obsessed with his bhari (literally) lady Saima, and Rukhsana Noor stopped writing his scripts, and he got to telecasting Saima in everything.
Boy can a woman make you or break you.
Re: Oh my Gawd!!! Oh my Gawdd!!!
For a change Shan looks really good in it...
Which movie is it from?

Untul, hum bhi jaante hain itna tou. Where did the inspiration come from? U2 or Led Zepplin? Fact is that we had a very good developing (since 1974) pop industry in the country that more flourished during 1990s. So the song is definetely influenced from it, because there is already an audience out there for such songs. On the other hand look at India, they don't have true pop basis, their new contemporary music is under heavy Paki pop influenced. Be it NFAK, Junoon, Atif, Strings, Ali Zafar or others. A.R.Rehman is a different story, he is a master, but Himesh, Pritam, Shankar Ehsan Loy and others have taken lots inspirations from across the border.

Yeah, I can sort of note the influences now you mention that! :D
Which movie is it from?
Guns and Roses.....was produced by a Lahore art school prof...hence its so avant-garde!

Nope, Syed Noor had nothing to do with this film. It was directed by the then freshly returned from the States Shaan. Sad how he went away to to decimate whatever image this film tried to build of him with the numerous gandaas-Gujjars he acted in.
And Smooth_Guy you're right abt the pop influences. Forget about what they do across the border, we should focus on ourselves and build ourselves up rather than letting our attention astray.
