Ok so yet again ive managed to put myself in this position..
.. so i had this phone interview for an awsome job position for which i have to fly to melbourne .. ne whoo so during the interview i kinda said yes to a certification which was quite crucial to the job which i dont have.. which seemed like the rite thing to do at the spur of the moment but now the lady asked me to bring the document from that certification for the interview (which they normally dont ) now how do i cover up that lie .. well i wudnt call it a lie .. lie is a strong word.. id say not so true statement :halo:
help? suggestions? critiques? mockings? ne thin will do
If the job is based upon that certification and that is the sole reason they called you in for the interview, I say just simply don't go to the interview.If you call and tell them you lied about the certification, it'll make you look bad.If you go to the interview and tell them you don't have the certification,it'll make you look even worse.Just call and decline going to the interview or make up some other excuse.
Sorry buddy, there's no resolution that's gonna get you the job unless you make 10 other lies which is simply unethical.
no no it wasnt that baad of a lie.. its just that that certification is a plus point for the position… they would still consider me even though i dint have it.. its just the fact that i said yes i have it
BiB- there are a couple ways to try and salvage this
either sign uo for the exam and say you thought they asked if you will have that certification
now, unless you said "yes, i have that certification" u can go around it a little.
you can also say, u misspoke, send her all your other documents except that one, if she asks for it, then say that either you misspoke or they misunderstood you and while you are preparing for the certificate and expect to have it soon, state something along the lines that you thought you said you had plans to have the certificate, but with interview jitters you may have just tripped over your words
and see what it does.
either do this, or tell them you have some family situation come up and you have to tackle that and will not be in a position to move for x months, and then get the damn certification in that time. tell em you really like teh company and want to join and thus want to proceed with the process but with your other commitments you fear that you will not be fair to your new role etc. buy some time
Or it got blown away while wind surfing over the Coral Reef when you saw the great white shark come after you; or you fed the cert to it to save your life…
I could but i dont think they can wait for that… ne who i think ive got the solution though .. i just found out i do have a course done with that institute .. which i absolutely forgot about cause it wasnt somin major.. ill just say that is wat i was talkin bout … thanks for the info though .. u professional liar u
what world do u live in.. u are supposed to lie in interviews.. but u shud lie to an extent that u can cover it up

on a serious note if I wud b in ur place I wud hv just told em dat I got a better offer sumwhere else n I m not joining any more, my self respect is way moreeeeeeeee important then any job. Any decent employer will figure out ur unreasonable xcuzez.
