**Dear friends **plz help me.
I hv combination skin and acne prone as well. through dermatologist no active acne nw but spots r on the chin. colour is olive , hv deep set eyes , long nose lol, and long face as well.

My questions r: Which powder do i use it ? do i need or no? In winter skin is dry. but hot weather skin is oily.
Wt r other essential things that i bought for my marriage..
**
I hv made a list to buy:**

Mascara

eye liner: dont knw which one i buy? wt type of liner r there? and which one is best for newly married bride?

Lipstick: Still bought 2 shades of medora 1:terracotta 208, 2: hint of pink 210

Re: essential make up for shadi

yah right. that's y askng. so that nw in few days when i will go again , I must knw wt do i buy and what point should i keep in mind while buying? so plz help me friends.

Re: essential make up for shadi

I can;t help you much but a few things that i follow myself.

I have a huge collection of make up and i keep on buying, however i don't buy from pakistan as most of the things i bought from pakistan were
fake and bad quality hence ended up in rubbish bin.

If you have option such as a relative or friend living abroad i will suggest you check websites, such as
macys.com, dillards.com, beauty.com lancome.com and see for promotions and get all your makeup from outside pakistan.

Will cost you almost the same but you will get genuine products.

For the brushes get a lot of them, and get the cheaper ones, since they need replacements after a while anyway. ( at least i do replace them frequently).

For the eye liner, get one liner pencil and one gel liner, i wont recommend liquid liner since its very hard to apply on neatly. i have used this pencil and gel liner from loreal and maybelline and i loved them, pencils are very easy to use, and gel is second best choice IMO.

Mascara: You dont need to get a super expensive mascara, Revlon, maybelline and loreal, they all have some really nice mascaras.

Blush: if you have access to nars products, get one from them, Orgasm is one of the most popular i think, i also got one, and cream/gel blushes also blend well on skin than powder blushes, especially if you have dry skin.

I am not at all a makeup expert, but i am crazy about make up, any good deal on make up leaves me drooling and i end up buying it. :D

Do let me know what you ended up buying :)

Re: essential make up for shadi

hey,
I would suggest giving your MIL a list lol not too long though...

visit some online shops sucj as MAC, Bobby Brown, Nars

Remember that because asian skin has a yellow under tone you will require a foundation from either MAC, Bobby brown or Ruby & Mille from Boots.

As far as eye liner is concerned use any pencil liner or gel liner, if you have a very still hand you can try the liquid liner,,,, With mascara use one that will give you volume to your lashes and the fake effect which will make your eyes stand out ;)

If you want any further info just ask

Re: essential make up for shadi

For me personally, I told my MIL not to get me any make-up and just bought all of my stuff on my own b/c I knew what I used...no sense in wasting their money on stuff I might not wear

Ditto to everyone, but just to add....

Get a great overall bronzer.....helpful for daily wear when you don't want to load up on blush. Anything from Nars, Loreal etc

MAC allows you to custom shadow/blush colors for a personal palette, so you can pick and choose, save it and email that to your MIL.

Eyelash curler is a must and a Mineral powder will be helpful to combat shine and won't looked caked on. The basic one from Covergirl is good for daily wear.

Re: essential make up for shadi

first of all wanna say thanx to all of u for such good tips.
I hv long thick lashes and hv maybelline volumious masacara. water proof. So i thnk dont need any curler for it.
Mineral powder of which company do i buy? and tell me use of it? powder look cakey on my skin. smile line appears . open pores also i hv?
My angagment make up was too bad due to this. she applied stick and powder on my face. i was so embrace throughout all event. So plz any suggesstion for me.

Re: essential make up for shadi

lucky you..my eyeslashes are falling out :(

hmmm don't go with stick foundation!!! Stick with liquid/cream... Make sure whichever one you buy, test it out by blending a little on your jaw line and see if color matches your skin tone. Checking on hands doesn't give you the right match.

Any mineral powder should work.... ck out Loreal, or Covergirl, it has to be loose mineral powder, won't stick to pores

For pores.... clean with pore toner/astringent from Clean & Clear.....put on cotton ball & wipe all over face. 3x weekly

Also try this mask:
1tsb besan, few drops of lemon juice, rosewater, pinch of haldi (optional) milk, and a little of yogurt. Apply to face...rinse after 15 min. do this 2x weekly
To exfoliate your skin naturally: cut a round slice of tomato, or orange....dip in sugar and scrub your face gently. 1x weekly

How long do you have before your shaadi??? I would focus on making your skin healthy instead of covering it with make-up. Try not to wear a lot of make up or foundation/powder for a while and just work on your skin. Lots of water...fruits/veggies and sleep. If they have wheatgrass juice in Pak...drink that also.

There is a "Bridal Glow" thread in the wedding section that has a lot of skincare tips for brides-to be. Do a search for it.... good luck!

Re: essential make up for shadi

thanx mirch.
Liquid foundation i hv as i hv mentioned above. using clinique , the powder u suggestion will try it soon.
As a toner i am using loreal white perfect toner. as it is non alcoholic.
Mask u said also will try and give u feed back soon.
I hv only one month left. In the mid of feb , my marriage has fixed,
I am no using makeup or foundation at all. Caz i hv also same belief that u r saying wanna spotless , healthy skin. taking veggies as a salan, fruits and water try to be taken as much as i can.

I hv heard abut wheatgrass powder? But i hv no idea of how and when i take it. or is it here in pak or no? how its taste?

Re: essential make up for shadi

dear friends wanna knw diffrence b/t bronzer and blush? and use of it? when v can apply it?
tell me abut it shade also?

Re: essential make up for shadi

^blush is color, usually in the shades of pink, peach, coral, reds, plums etc. Bronzer is to add warmth or to contour and is usually bronze, golden, brown or beige in color. Bronzer tends to have slight shimmer in it but many people prefer matte.

The way I apply bronzer is to apply a bit on a small brush like MAC 109 and apply it in the hollows of my cheeks, under the cheek bone. I apply blush on top of cheekbones (not too high that it's close to my eye or anything) and I keep it about 2 finger's worth of distance away from my nose so it's not too close and not severely on the "apples" of the cheek.

There are many videos on this on youtube. And shade depends on your skin. If you're light, go for something more sheer and light/bronze/golden and if you're darker, going for a red-based bronzer like Casino by NARS is great. I also apply highlighter on top of the blush as well to combine everything together.

Re: essential make up for shadi

@ M you are good in explaning ... you have a great knowledge about makeup and stuff :)

Re: essential make up for shadi

Irrelevant, but any discounts or sales on Nars blushes anywhere in the States???

M_was_here](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/members/m_was_here.html) are you from U.S??? I need to buy some nars products but no store seems to be having any discounts :frowning:

Re: essential make up for shadi

lol, thanks! Just whatever I picked up from researching via youtube/blogs/books/experimenting. Still have a lot of things to learn. I want to do my own makeup for my wedding so hopefully I can learn to do that by then.

Yup, I’m in the US but no discounts on NARS yet. They have a sale w/ 20% once a year or so. I know Sephora will have a 15% off sale in April but nothing as of yet. What were you looking to get?

Re: essential make up for shadi

oh :( april is too far to wait. I was looking to get a cream blush and wanted to buy this week, since i am epecting a pracel byt end of this month from my sister, wanted the blush in it :(

Re: From the shadi perspective, .......

i think mac is a safer bet

Re: From the shadi perspective, .......

Sephora has a great variety. Mac foundations can be hit and miss.
