A fullsize SUV like a Range Rover is seldom lacking for space. But there are always those - from the slopes of Aspen to the dunes of Dubai and the streets of Shanghai - for whom that will never be enough. And for just such customers, Land Rover has finally revealed the long-awaited, long-wheelbase Range Rover.
The first-class sport-ute is set to debut first at the Dubai Motor Show, then at the LA Auto Show and finally the Guangzhou Motor Show in China, all taking place over the course of November. There the public will behold the first long-wheelbase Range Rover in 20 years, boasting nearly half a foot of extra legroom and a 17-degree recline angle (8 degrees more than standard) for the rear seats, which are available either as a bench of individual seats. (Don’t expect an extra row of seats, though: for that you’ll paradoxically need the Range Rover Sport.) Those lucky enough to be chauffeured around in the back of one of these will also benefit from automatic window blinds, a panoramic sunroof and a sliding front passenger seat for even more legroom.
Along with the stretched wheelbase, Land Rover has also announced a new Autobiography Black trim level exclusively for this model that offers increased levels of luxury and customization.
