Codemasters has given us the rundown on the classic content in the two versions of F1 2013 that will be released on October 8. F1 2013 will offer all of this year’s competitors, as well as a selection of Eighties cars, drivers and tracks like the 1980 Williams FW07B and 1986 Lotus 98T, along with drivers Alan Jones and Emerson Fittipaldi and courses like England’s Brands Hatch and Spain’s Circuit de Jerez.
If you opt for F1 2013: Classic Edition you’ll get those vintage eighties outfits as well as more content from the Nineties, including the 1992 Ferrari F92A and 1992 Williams FW14B, Jean Alesi and Nigel Mansell, Italy’s Imola track and Portugal’s Estoril.
Codemasters says the Classic Edition is a limited-edition proposition, but hasn’t defined the world “limited” with a number. The voice of the fabulous Murray Walker introduces game content, and you can mix vintage and modern cars in the new F1 Classic mode. Yes, that means you’ll have to buy two games in order to get everything, but you didn’t really think going back in time was going to be that easy, did you? Check out the video below with some gameplay and a press release with more details on the classic cars, courses and drivers.
