Office Makeover - need some fresh ideas

Hi everyone. I’m shifting my office next week and I’d like a fresh look for it.. hope you can give me some ideas.

Current Office:

  • A big teddy bear : people go “Oh, so cute!” about it all the time but I think it’s time for me to grow up a bit
  • Small pink panther
  • Confectionery pillow(It looks like a sweet)
  • Red feather rose
  • Magazine holder - looks more like the pisa tower
  • Loads & loads of magazines, publications, directories, papers on the table…I feel people won’t be able to see me soon behind the pile of papers.
  • Fish Bowl - I used to have a goldfish but now it’s full of business cards
  • Memento from Lake Tahoe
  • Picture stuck on the wall
  • Office situated in old building, u take the lift, turn left, take the left door, turn left again, 2 offices on the left(not mine)! Mine is the right door, turn right again and walk straight (a real labyrinth!!!)

New Office:

  • In the main business center :slight_smile:
  • Limited space
  • But I’ve got a conference room right next to my office for meetings.
  • the only furniture right now is a table & a chaire
  • The dividers are a horrible shade of blue (I usually like blue a lot)

Give me some ideas on how I can use the limited space, go for a feminine but sophisticated look. I’m thinking of discarding most of the useless things lying in my office anyways. Do suggest colour scheme as well.

I would like to share what I have observed from other people and found them a good idea

A board of : " Bismillahir rahmanir rahim"

A prayer mat for praying (in case of emergency one gets late)

A First Aid box, for commonly used medicines that one needs frequently.

An air freshner.

A cloth for cleaning.

A pin board for reminders and making notes.

A Quran, if one feels like reciting any specific surah.

Would continue if I recall anything.........

ahhhh my field area kinda. but then marcomm for what industry or is it for an agency?

also depends on the culture of the company.

I am in a global role and my office reflects that, with stuff from diff countries, cultures and regions, mixed with some iconic stuff...

Investment area...i deal with lots of people from diff countries/cultures as well...guess stuff from diff countries would be a nice idea...do tell me about the colour scheme...the office is a bit dark...want to brighten it up...

Describe your office space. Where's the door, any windows?

What do you want to do in your office? Print / fax / copy?

How many filing space, in meters? (a cabinet has usually approx 3.2 mtr)

Do you receive informal people / friends in your office? In that case you could consider a sofa or easy chairs.

Do not place your desk so that you have to sit with your back to the door.
Try to keep the window to one of your sides.
