4 hours isn't such a short drive and she has a kid with her too which makes it a tougher. If she was going to be in your town and then refused to see you, yes that would be offensive. If u really really want to meet her go and visit her. From what you tell, your in-laws aren;t too crazy about you and ur sis-in-law has avoided you in the past too. If I were you I would just care about keeping my fiance happy and forget about going out of my way to please the others.
