Last one is interesting. What examples can you quote as bad literature?

Well I know it’s trite but honestly anything Stephenie Meyer churns out comes to mind. And the offense comes not necessarily because it’s ‘bad’ but more because in most cases you can just tell the writer didn’t even attempt to make the effort (relying instead on jejune tropes and well worn stereotypes… for example; Maniac Pixie Dream Girl.) It doesn’t have to be Gatsby but good grief show some initiative.
