The Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “The best day that the sun rises is Friday. On it, Adam was created, and on, he entered Paradise, and on it, he exited it” [Muslim].
And we learn from other traditions that it is the day that Adam came down to earth, and that Allah accepted Adam’s repentance, and that the Day of Judgment will occur on it. So events associated with the beginning of time and the end of time are linked to Friday.
On it, Allah has legislated a special prayer: the Friday prayer. And during this day is a special hour of dua - an hour that Allah guarantees us a response to our duas, as long as they are permissible to ask.
So take advantage of today, and every Friday, and rejoice at a beautiful gift that Allah has given us. And make sure that the weekly recurrence of Friday does not numb you to its significance, but rather causes you to take advantage of it, week after week.
