Of oddly placed necklaces, Jhumars and Tikas.....

Re: Of oddly placed necklaces, Jhumars and Tikas…

I honestly think it’s a question of perspective. I’m pretty sure most of my arab, somali, and goray friends wondered why I was wearing a brooch on the side of my head because they had no idea what a jhoomar was and probably thought my tikka was a bracelet. WE think jhoomars look nice where we put them because that’s how we are used to them, same goes for tikkas and matha pattis and those things they use to accessorize parandey now, and those big sets they are making for hijabi brides (this one’s from Kyles Collection in B’ham):

I love the look, and I agree with fashionblogger that it’s been overdone, to the point that people have started using accessories that don’t work, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t look nice when it’s worn well.

I like this look on her but not sure I could pull it off..

I like some of the looks, they look natural.

Ummm, I love it! Different, quirky, yet still pretty! My favourite so far is this one:

But I actually love all of them and am seriously considering it for my big day now! Why all the hate?!

Some people can definitely pull it off...hmmm I don't think I will experiment like that on my big day...might irk at the look years later.
