Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
I can understand the need for an "all halaal chill grill for muslims".
But what's wrong with chai or coffee? Why can't we chill with a falooda?

Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
Never smooked a hooka but wonder how it is
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
in the summer, demetres is the place to chill out....but its always a rush....cheesecakes....crepes...waffles...yum yum..
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
exactly.....why can't we hang at a place like that?
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies…?
I’m so sick of that place. I always see ppl there who I never want to see, yet they are there every single time I go. ![]()
Damn their apple pie … it keeps me going back for more and more. ![]()
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
yea...my nanny/whatever you wanna call her used to do niswar...it stinks too, and it's the green powder thingy...i think she placed it in her mouth or something. and it's used to make you sneeze as well.
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies…?
lol mehnaz…the demetres in woodbridge is alwasy packed…have to wait in line for a good 30 minutes..i hate that…never had their apple pie…
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
most likely the same thing....my nani is alwasy askng pple that come back from pakistan for this stuff....shes addicted to it....is it some kind of nasha thing? or more like tobacco?
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
interesting responses. so i guess its just a matter of perspective.
muzna-the sipping chai idea is out there but the hookah lounges have become a bit more "hip"
beera is naswar.no? and yeah it contains pure tobacco.
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
beera is fined grined tobacco.. different than naswaar..
and muzna, there is a cultural thing, MOSTLY only the married ladies in villages (thakur, raajpoots) smoke, but its not frowned upon if an unmarried one sits.. THOUGH tendency is towards middle-aged.. by that u ARE married/widhwaa
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
no wonder village folks lead a stress-free life, they are so into "chilling"
niswar, hookah, cigs, paan u name it.
i remember my village men used to do da the opium hookah or wateva its called. i think its called "chellum" there.
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies…?
Precisely faizy. That’s the point that I was trying to make.
It’s norm for many things to be “permitted” to women that are married.
I doubt that you would see a group of teenage women sitting around a hooka in the village. It just wouldn’t be “permitted” or “acceptable”.
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
well, i am trying to bring the factor of 'age' .. like if u're 40, and married, and ur sis is 40 BUT NOT MARRIED, it will be** okay** if u two gather up in the married/middle-old age khawateen and smoke some ..
also, in rajpoots, thakurz, and somewhat rajhistani community, its a symbol of 'zameendarni' as well .. to smoke in mehfilz, married or not..
Re: Of Hookah lounges and ladies...?
hukkah lounge is just another lounge.
good self-respecting people will themselves, or for being egged on by their "friends/lovers", won't do any thing wrong, so a lounge is a good or bad place, only when its presence is!
so go ahead, enjoy just the chilmun and its coal burnt tobacco.
