Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

news caster aisa kahain to ghalat hai

haan aam loog agar keh dain to masla nahi ..punjaab main musatqil punjaabi bolnay walay log her alif ya haa per khatam honay walay shehar kay naam kay agay baree yay lagatay hain

baaz oqaat hamare zabaan hamaray irdgird raaij alfaaz sun sun ker wohee bolnay lagtee hai ..halankay hum jantay hain k us ka tallafuz kuch or hai

phir her koi kitaboon say ya ustaadoon say perh ker nahi seekha hota ..yehe irdgird bolay jaanay walay alfazoon ko sun ker ada kerta hay ..aysay main us ka lehja or talllafuz apna rehta hai ...to woh lafz qadray badal jaata hai

khair... topic bhi to chalaana hai is ley carry on !

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

TLK Bro, Sargodhge, ThaTThe, Quette, Kolkatte, PaTne are NOT plurals.

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

topic chalanay kay liye alfazoon kay qabeelay kay chand aur afraad:

bookain = books (books + kitab*ain)
deskon = desks (
desks + maizon)
maaliculoon = molecules (
malecules + saalmoon*)

one of my teachers used these and many more like these, he was an all rounder (chemistry + biology + islamiyat)

apni bookain deskoon par band kar kay rakh dain, aur xyz moliculoon kay faarmoolay likhain jaldi jaldi

I thought that kelaa, kharbooza are singular, and kelay and kharboozay are plural, same way patne, quette should be

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

Why does 'Doctor' have to be 'Daaktarr' ?

Even worse, why does it have be written in Urdu like that ?

Why can't 'wow' be used instead of 'alif' ?

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

I think PG was right that in languages like Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi people say Sargodhe, Thatte, Quette while referring or saying they are going to that city.

**kanTaki fried chikan = **[Kentucky Fried Chicken] :cb:

Toe ran Toe, kanay-da = [Toronto, Canada] :smiley:

oTaawaaa, Oan Taariyo = [Ottawa, Ontario] :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh another mistake. Instead of saying

yeah ghussa honay kee baat nahi, they say

Yeah ghussay honay kee baat nahi

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

or baaz uqat hum word ka meaning he change kar dety hain jaisy k when we go for grocery or shopping we always call shopping bag a shopper 'uncle isy shopper me dal dain' so you are right k hum alfaaz sun sun kar wohe bolny lagty hain.

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

graas-ry = grocery
hoat doag = Hotdog
peeza = pizza
she-Dool = schedule
ispress = Express

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

Re: Of ‘Draaing rooms’, ‘Forms’ and ‘Dabbal roTis’.

Ghussa honey se bahtar hai "Ghussa karne"...

i hate when people say "maiN ne yeh baat un se karii"...should say "maiN ne yeh baat un se kii"...

ek aur masalah hotaa hai..."Ghalat ul 'aam" aur "Ghalat ul 'awaam" kaa...yeh hamaarii zabaan kii aasaan talabii hai.
