Sorry to spoil the flow of this thread ... but
I thought that the reason for trimming the moustache and growing the beard was to distinguish us from the Jews and Christians. In other words it is an Islamic identity. I think it was true then and still true today. Most people ... I mean 99 out of 100 who have our style of beards are Muslims.
This discounts those gothic rock artists who shave everything on their faces and let their just their chin hair grow downwards.
