I was reading the Religion forum, and got into this](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=194294)thread, where a gentleman used the word “Bhindian” to make a point, obviously not as a term of endearment, but rather insult for a whole nation of about 1 billion people (give or take a few million).

And then we have a dear guppie who frequently uses the word “Amerikkan”, (like here](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showpost.php?p=3502922&postcount=46)) to mock Americans, be referring to the history of Ku Klux Klan et al. I am sure he has valid points of view in many discussions, which are all worth debating, but at the same time I am sure there are better ways to start or continue a discussion, because frankly when you resort to name-calling, then its just a exchange of insults that ensues and no serious discussion can take place.

The icing, ofcourse, is when those who feel offended by such name-calling then resort to the term “Porkistan” (like here](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showpost.php?p=3527387&postcount=60)) and our dear guppies then demand a ban, or at a minimum removal of posts, because their sensitivites are insulted. Point well taken, but why start on a route, where the corresponding tit for tat, is not something you can live with?

Or may be, the expectation is that since this is a “Pakistani” forum, so “Pakistani” members can dish out whatever they want, and it is the role of the mods to remove anything said in response. I am not sure if thats a fair way of operating a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, inter-faith discussion forum (on the internet, ofcourse), but if thats the wish of members, then they should clarify that, so mods are aware of the sentiments.

I am not saying I endorse that. But instead of members just assuming that mods will "protect" them, lets put the issue on the table, so everyone is #1 aware of it, and #2 can agree or disagree.

oh and underhanded insults are another real bright thing that some people are experts at, as if one cant see their lame game. one day someone may just get tired of the covert approach of doing the same lameness that some ppl do openly and ban the whole kit n kaboodle.

I just have a low tolerance for idiots :)

I think you know the answer to your questions.

  1. Make sure you ask a person to sign a “primacy of islam over other religons” clause as part of the disclosure agreement, one should be made to declare their religion in the same. (kind of like Pakistan asking people tp declare their religion on the passport. precendence is there…)

  2. Get rid of religion forum and make it Islam forum. That way muslims wouldn’t be confused as to whether spiritual terms such as GOD might mean different things to different people.

  3. Make Sunni Islam the official religion of Gupistan.

  4. Don’t allow non muslims on to the board. They are frankly trouble and tend to look at spirituality form their point of view. And we all know that once #3 is established…we can’t question religious edicts.

  5. Change the name of the religion Mod to Khalifah. Obviously he knows best…thanks for sharing. :flower1:

more than the name calling and bigotry what's most frustrating is / are:

  • holding nutty interpretations as self-evident truths

  • never admitting anything

  • hiding prejudice and sounding like even handed but the giggling cheap thrill shows anyway when one looks at which posts are removed and which are not

Very pertinent thread...and it was about time too.

There is this one particular guppie - a certain Mr Antiobl - who seemingly does not know that a word called "INDIAN" exists.....he refers to "Indians" as "Bhartis" every single time. I decided to respond in kind once and as expected - was immediately reminded by the forum moderator that this was a Pakistani forum and another transgression would result in action against me. Mr Antiobl , however, can go on with his "Bharti" tirades with impunity...

I guess the moderator is either (1) Too innocent to see the ulterior motives of Antoibl behind using the word "Bharti" or (2) believes Pakistanis have the license to kill by virtue of this being a Pakistani forum.

What about those insults which Pakistanis face in the real world from hindians/Bhartis (whatever that means :blush: )? I can close eyes to what happens in the real world. So, we arent allowed to be rough with them even in the virtual world of net?

Waisay, I like this name Bharti :blush: What does it mean?

Also, I have never asked any moderators to remove anybody’s posts or ban anyone. I mean you can ban them here and do not see hear what they think of you but what about the real world? They do and will keep doing the same in the real world. So, instead of being a little chicken hiding behind a mod and request a ban, I have and shall always prefer to fight & shut their mouths. I am not a baby so I dont need mods/admins to keep me ‘safe’ from how thhese bhartis treat Pakistanis in real/virtual world. I know how to handle them and I do.

I only give them back the taste of their own wine. I never start trouble but I cant just shut my eyes to insults and sit quietely. I only return insult, do not initiate.

Will you believe I was kicked out of this forum once cz I stated in one post all the ill behaviour I received from them in real life. My ban took place on the complaint of a Pakistani guppan. She could not take the fact that bharits could treat Pakistanis like that in the real world. And she did not like me stating all that :smiley:
