Azhar Ali has been retained as Pakistan’s ODI captain for the five-match series against Australia starting January 13 in Brisbane.
Squad: Azhar Ali (capt.), Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Asad Shafique, Umar Akmal, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Mohammad Rizwan, Immad Wasim, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, Rahat Ali, Mohammad Irfan

We needed someone aggressive like Kamran Akmal at the front since the failures of Azhar Ali, Babar Azam etc.
Sharjeel and Kamran would be good opening pair for the ODI’s a they’re both aggressive type. We need to get out of the old defensive opening which restricts the team to mid 200’s score each time.
Shoaib Malik is past his prime, he looks tired all the time and unable to do well in bowling. We have Imad Wasim and Nawaz as good alternates.
M. Rizwan is getting wasted as there’s Sarfaraz and Rizwan just sits out all the time and when he gets a game here and there he doesn’t get chance to get big scores.
Wahab should’ve been excluded as he is too expensive and wayward. Hasan Ali is suitable replacement or bring back M. Asif at least he was good swinger and able to get wickets.

No reason of shoaib malik in the team. now we need to consider imad as our prime all rounder..
It is sad to see that after all the years of bad perfomrance w e are looking back again to players like kamran and shoaib..

Can someone please tell me why Khalid Latif is not in team despite his good opening stands with Sharjeel? I guess the only possible reason could be not having enough “Parchi”

Since PCB have opted for same team and have gone a mile further to include most pathetic Batsman Pakistan have ever produced… we at GS let Ehsan bhai to continue with the thread starting practice!!!

Someday I will succeed. I have been suffering at the hands of this team more than anyone of you, since the 60’s but have never given up on them..

rather than give chances to youth, they keep bringing back same old tired and failed donkeys who can’t perform.

Once hafeez cleared out his bowling action . One chance to Banta hey. He need to capitalize on it with same or better performance with ball as earlier. If give something with bat will be a bonus

Koi chance nai banta…he had plenty of chances before his action was banned, and even that time he never performed with the bat.
Pathetic batsman, who has never done anything for Pakistan. How many matches did he contribute with bat for Pak to win?

Imad Wasim would be a better fit in every aspect.

Sarfraz returning home due to his mothers illness. Rizwan will probably take his place.

He had been no. 1 all rounder for some time … As a batter alone he never justified. But as a package specaiily once he performs well with ball his batting also improves . Maybe something to do with confidence level. suppose he bowls 1 for 45 in 10 and makes 30 - 35 runs ( odd 50 or 70 ). This i beleive enough to be in team . Atleast much better choice than malik.
