How do you transfer your Pakistani visa when you
renew your American Passport and you had the visa
on your older passport?

Can’t find this info on the Pakistani embassy web site or
perhaps I over looked it. Thanks in advance. It’s urgent.

I think you just send then you new passport along with the old one and they will transfer it (I am not too sure tough).
All of my visas expired within a year so I never had to experience that.
You might also want to consider getting a NICO CARD (visa free entry)

Well I always say, if u have option to have NICOP or POC, why bother about visa ?

You can carry ur both passports with u, the expired one & the new one & they will check the valid visa on ur old passport but will put the entry stamp on your new one.

But as mentioned early, get a NICOP or POC, much cheaper, & once u have its problem free visaless entry into Pakistan.

All those who can have dual nationality can have NICOP (15 dollars for 10 years)
All those who cannot have dual nationality can have POC (100 dollars of 10 years)

the best option is to have a NICOP.....its valid for 10 yrs and u don't have to bother to get a visa when u r going to Pakistan on ur American passport...
but if u don't have that at the moment...u can always carry ur old passport with the valid visa along with the valid passport.....i have done that once....:)

if it's that urgent, then carry both passports with you, the one with the valid visa, and the new passport.

I am getting a visa for my trip to Pakistan because according to the Pak Embassy website it can take up to 6 months to get an NICOP or POC.

Yeah yeah I know the cards go to Pakistan and sometimes they can come back with in a couple of months.

^ Not limited to 6 months. My dad got his in like 2-3 months whereas mines took like an year. I applied for mines last year and got it 2 or so months ago.

I applied for NICOP online on NADRA's website from the U.S. I got it delivered to my home with First Class U.S Mail in about a month (33 days to be exact). Not that bad. You can do everything online, including photograph submission. My credit card was charged $24 by NADRA.

Oh about the question, if your old expired passport has a valid visa, simply attach it to your new passport while traveling. I have done that many many times.

there is no way to transfer visa from old to new passport but all you have to do is to attach old passport with new one until visa expire OR you can pay fee again and apply new visa on new passport.
