Objection to the Islamic New Year Banner

Can you please remove the “Happy” out of the banner. Its a mournful month and shouldn’t need that word for another islamic year.

Re: Objection to the Islamic New Year Banner

I would have to respect the request.

Personally, the event of Moharram 10th in 61 Hijra is something that all muslims reflect upon and regard as holy due to the grand martyrdom of Imam Hussain Razi Allaho Anho.

In the days of Prophet :saw2:, however, the fasting of Moharram 9th and 10th (or 10th and 11th) was in observance of the happy occassion of Mosa (PBUH) getting torah (or was it getting rid of the slavery of Pharoa? - Either of the two for sure) on Moharram 10th.

I have brought this to the attention of the banner makers.

Gizzy

Thank you for being on top of this.

In the interim, please take the banner down. The intent was not to insult any sensibilities, Tofui your posyt is appreciated because we would rather see if asomething is offensive and fix it rather than be oblivious and have many members feel slighted.

if we just have a banner marking the beginning to the new islamic year that should work.

Re: Objection to the Islamic New Year Banner

That works just fine. Thank you.
Not that I'm very religious or anything but it just took me aback when I noticed it.
