Re: Objectification of women
It doesn't matter even if women get involved in big jobs - women will always be objectified. Even women's business suits/clothing is made in a way to make them look more appealing/womenly.

true!
Re: Objectification of women
showbiz + a gossip rag
now if more women would stop obsessing over shades of makeup of their underarm pre-foundation cream etc., and get involved in the big jobs, it wouldn't be so much of a mans world.
bingo!
Re: Objectification of women
giada is there primarily because her grand-dad is as big as it gets in hollywood production. if cooking skills and knowledge was what counted, we’d be talking lydia bastianich.

Right on spot but I have one question? Do you want it to be woman's world?
Re: Objectification of women
as our porphet(saw) told us 1400 years ago that Mastoorah (word specifically used for women and literally means a hidden thing) supposed to hide their beauty from all na-mehrams. sadly, we are not following the teaching of Prophet Muhammad(saw) and denying the orders of Allah.
Re: Objectification of women
sure - if by society you mean tube and hollywood.
Outside that world, I meet women everyday enjoying their post pregnancy bodies, dressing modestly and professionally, having good self esteem regardless of body shape or size. Some don't even know who Rihanna is.
Re: Objectification of women
Plus the fact that she is the only food network host who displays her assets.
Re: Objectification of women
^ Nothing says 'take me seriously' like exposed cleavage.
Re: Objectification of women
Does anyone else think Giada De Laurentiis has too many teeth? It's so distracting, if not a little scary.
But the men aren't the ones going gaga about what designer or whatever she is wearing. They may make it about what she may not be wearing or shouldn't be wearing or simply not giving her the credit for her accomplishment but its us women who are more interested in shrinking waists and post baby bodies. Therefore in my opinion men and women are all objectified and hell I have objectified a few but thats the price you pay for being in the public eyes. Hina khar is known for her birkin and her strand of pearls than the role she plays in pakistani politics and I can assume it isn't the men who are going gaga for her birkin.

Re: Objectification of women
I agree, the more women think they have rights, the more of a commodity they become
So in villages in Pakistan or India women aren't seen as a commodity or exploited?
Re: Objectification of women
We do zulm on ourselves every time we go against God's orders, you expose what's meant to be covered then expect the objectification.
Re: Objectification of women
....Women in this day n age *are *involved in big jobs, definitely a lot more than they were a century ago. Looks like it didn't make any difference.
yes, Princeton and Stanford are producing great cheerleaders of tomorrow!
Re: Objectification of women
women are objectified but it's debatable why that is... is it because we tend to present ourselves that way in the manner of our dressing style or is it because as a society we have been made so aware of our sexuality that it has led to the objectification of both men and women
