Missiles fired from suspected US drones killed at least 15 people inside Pakistan today, the first such strikes since Barack Obama became president and a clear sign that the controversial military policy begun by George W Bush has not changed.

Security officials said the strikes, which saw up to five missiles slam into houses in separate villages, killed seven “foreigners” - a term that usually means al-Qaeda - but locals also said that three children lost their lives.
Dozens of similar strikes since August on northwest Pakistan, a hotbed of Taleban and al-Qaeda militancy, have sparked angry government criticism of the US, which is targeting the area with missiles launched from unmanned CIA aircraft controlled from operation rooms inside the US.

The operations were stepped up last year after frustration inside the Bush administration over a perceived failure by Islamabad to stem the flow of Taleban and al-Qaeda fighters from the tribal regions into Afghanistan. Mr Obama has made Afghanistan his top foreign policy priority and said during his presidential campaign that he would consider military action inside Pakistan if the government there was unable or unwilling to take on the militants.

The strikes come just a day after Mr Obama appointed Richard Holbrooke, a former UN ambassador, as a special envoy for the region.

Eight people died when missiles hit a compound near Mir Ali, an al-Qaeda hub in Pakistan’s North Waziristan region. Seven more died when hours later two missiles hit a house in Wana, in South Waziristan. Local officials said the target in Wana was a guest house owned by a pro-Taleban tribesman. One said that as well as three children, the tribesman’s relatives were killed in the blast.
Pakistan has objected to such attacks, saying they are a violation of its territory that undermines its efforts to tackle militants. Since September, the US is estimated to have carried out about 30 such attacks, killing more than 220 people.

So, where are those Pakistanis who supported this cartoon all the way? The ones that cried for him? The ones that are living in a dreamworld? Where are you?! It’s not going to be long before he launches a full fledge war on Pakistan.

well it is a democratic government accountable to the people. if the people wanted it badly, their leaders would respect their wishes. i havent heard of any sizeable protest against the pakistani govt from pakistani people about this.

Few points

**1. **In war zone commanders dont take permmision of thier PMs or Presidents for any move. drones are controlled from Bagram Base and is done on order of Cent. Command not Obama.

2.How do people controlling Drones in Bagram know that certain house in small village of N-Wazirstan have some Arabs or Al-Qaeda leaders.Actually there are thousands of local tribal people plus many ISI officals working for years in this region.US provide 'Chip' to these local people via ISI who all know which house contains Arabs,Chechans,Uzbeks,Egyptians,Al-Qaeda terrorists .Since these local cannot openly speak about those otherwise these people do the same as Talibans doing in Swat with these innocents.What they do is secretly throw this chip in that house wher Arabs/Al-Qaeda are living with local tribal people either as a 'guest' or forcefully living there threatning the local tribals. These 'Chips' are provied to these locals by ISI .Whenever the drone recieves any signal from that 'Chip' , it launch its missile.

3.Since these foreigners are livinh with local tribals ,so in these attacks, they also been killed..

4.After attack, the Al-Qaeda or Talibans quickly remove the foreigners bodies and left only the local bodies to show people that actually all killed are innocents, which is not the case .

5.In 2 January attack, two mastermind of Marriaot Attack killed in these drone attacks .I think both were from Al-Jazair or Tunis something like that.

6. ISI/Army is secretly supporting these attacks as now Al-Qaeda is suffered with major loss in these attacks.These days , they less make planning of any terror attack inside Pakistan or outside the world than escaping ,hidinng from these Drones.

7. In this fight, many locals also been killed by Talibans/Al-Qaeda when someone saw them throwing that 'Chip' in the house .They kill that man brutally and leave a letter saying Every spy of US/Pakistan Army will face the same death etc etc.

If there is terrorist attack in the US again, America will bomb FATA back to beyond stone age. So its better if the US picks and takes out terrorists hiding there b/c PA is either incapable or unwilling to drive terrorists out who are doing everything they can to harm Pakistan & its interests.

theres no reason why Pak Army cant handle this themselves, if they showed the same attitude towards those occupying the country in the west as they do to India.
