I’m not supporting illegal immigration, but the immigrants are hardly that much of a drain. Most come to the US to find a job and contribute to the economy. The US does not have social benefits even close to some European countries so it’s not as if illegals are a massive drain. I do think they should be better regulated.

One little known fact about illegal immigrants is they pay into the social security system but do not receive any Soc security benefits.

On the other hansd, the senior citizens ( a big voting block for throw Right) are receiving more money than they paid into system. For the average 70 yr old, any additional amount they receive exceeds the amount they have paid into system. That is welfare noons wants to address.

No one touches topics that are going to cost votes. That’s the ugly side of democracy.

Edit: Just wanted to add, that’s *one *of the ugly sides of democracy. One particular pet peeve of mine is that every moron gets a vote. There should definitely be a test (it can be relatively basic) that requires you to know basic facts. For example, did Obama spend $200 million a day on his trip to India?
