Looks like policy makers want either a escape goat who will be doing fire fighting with the mess Bush administration is leaving for the next President, or do the damange control and save US sinking economic ship (like Bill Clinton did after disasterous Sr. Bush tenure) in the new global economy model and realities.
In the first scenario, minority president will be called a big no no by majority middle class white Americans. And in latter it could be a new door open for everyone to run for the presidency.
However, I don’t see if he can make big difference or CHANGE as it is famous in this campaign in both parties. He is also funded by Corporate America like Hillary but unlike John Edward.

To early to call Obama. Hillary will win next week in Michigan as Obama and Edwards withdrew from that primary as the state moved up it's date and has since had it's delegates disqualified by the Democrats so the state has no say but none the less the win could give Hillary a slight push that she badly needs, but if too many people choose 'uncommitted' it could hurt her. The real battle in Michigan will be Romney and McCain, the Republicans did not disqualify MI for moving up the date but did take away half their delegates but the real prize is the MO that the winner will get by taking Michigan.
If Obama wins by 10% of more today in New Hampshire, Hillary is on the ropes, if by less than there is still a good fight left. Meanwhile Edwards lurks in the backround and can't be counted out.

dems are not going to win this election.
unless republicans screw it up they will win.
only if there is some combo of the obama. clinton edwards on the dem ticket they will have a chance.
the lack of results by dems since taking control will come and bite the presidential candidates at election time.
