Did you not follow the elections closely?
I can't tell you the secret behind his rapid rise because i don't know myself. I can't predict future either because i lack the ability to foretell future events. I can tell you this though, that people who have voted for him (an overwhelming majority of Americans of all backgrounds) have hopes in his presidency. He is seen with the hope that he may undo the damage done to the nation because of G.W. Bush's policies and procedures.
Only time will tell whether he proves to be a better President than G.W. or worse....
He is not an unknown creature as claimed by Fox news or Mccain palin campaign. For more information on him, maybe pick up his book "dreams from my father". Also there is nothing wrong in having a muslim sounding name.

i dont doubt his moderacy !! what scares me is what he says one day and does another.
I truly hope he brings back the true respect for US and does good

Any peace agreement that sticks is going to have Jerusalem as Israel's capital and undoubtly as Palestinian's capital and done so in a manner that does not physically divide it.
