NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

Has anyone tried this particular shade as a base for the eyeshadow? I am just afraid it might crease like the MAC’s paint pots? I have seen a lot of MUA use it, but would it work on desi skin tones? I finally saw it here at a local drugstore last night but wanted to know more about it first from girls here?

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

I haven't used it but will buy it whenever I see it. I'm sure it does crease if you use too much, but it shouldn't be too bad if you use just a little. It's meant for the eyeshadow on top to show it's true color since it's on a white base. I think it should work on desi skin tones, it just depends on WHAT color you layer on top of it.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

I was thinking of pairing it with deep purples and pinks....not sure about greens like in olive tones?

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

I have it and use it if I feel like I might not get true color. If I want the shadow to be bright...I use milk. If I want intensity I use their black jumbo pencil. I also have a shimmery nude color I haven't tried yet.

Its creamy in consistency so it will crease if you use too much of it. The eyelid just needs a light film and that's about it.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

I used it and it creased... but paint pots also crease on me so I always start with a base of NYX HD Eyeshadow primer and then put either the jumbo pencil or paint pot over it and my shadow lasts all day.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

If I am having an oily lid day...I use baby powder to absorb the oil off my lids before doing anything else. It seems to help.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

I have that one and i love it.
it does crease if you apply too much.
I usually apply UDPP prior to applying the pencil and then i sheer out the white a little and then on top of that i apply w/e eye shadow i want to.
and i really like it cuz it really helps to show the true color of the eye shadow.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

MAC paint pots crease? great......that'll be a waste now.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

try using a eyeshadow primer before applying any colour...

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

If you want a base that shows the true colour, try MAC paints (the ones in tubes). I have oily lids and it works for me.

After a long day, I will only develop a line in my crease (everything else stays perfect) unless I have dabbed some UDPP in the crease, after applying the paint. Then yeh, no makeup is going anywhere.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

Reha, I should try the baby powder tip thanks :D

Muzna, likes omeone suggested above just apply a little but and do the baby powder layer first, paint pots are a good glue for the shadow.

Stoppit....I have those tube paints and yes they do crease after a night out, but what I don't get it, they are so pigmented and the colors show up so great, how in the world there is only like 5 shades? There should be 10 more at least.

Thanks girls for all the tips, will give it a try.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

I will definitely try the baby powder technique as well.
The paint was suggested by the sales girl as a base for eye shadow anyway.

Re: NYX Jumbo Eye pencil - milk

They can. I only have one...Rubanesque. I love the color, but i find that if I don't prime my lids prior to application, it's more likely to crease. I use the Urban Decay primer.
