Bhaijan I work in Pakistan and in finance sector too. Surely there are lots of threats to Pakistan economy, but despite all that it is still sustaining and growing. I started work in this Port Qasim Industrial Area some 6 years ago. So far I have not seen a single factory closure over here. Numerous factories have been added here over the last 5 years.

Textile sector has always been as such - some time up and some time down. But it is always one of the major sector of economy.
Re: NYT: Pakistan to Talk With Militants, New Leaders Say
Local police doesn't exist. As per Frontier Crimes Regulations, tribals are supposed to police themselves. And they have miserably failed in breaking the stranglehold of Arabs and other sundry terrorists.
That's why it is of utmost importance to get rid of FCR, and replace with the Pakistani penal code (a variation of British-era Indian penal code).
As soon as we get rid of FCR, we must change the status of FATA as the Lawless-Gun-toting Wild Wild West. This type of concepts belong to the life that existed 2 centuries ago. In the modern world, you are either part of a country, or you don't exist.
p.s. A force called Khasa dras do exist in FATA but they are toothless tigers or more accurately pawless cats. .
If doesn't exist then they have to create one or increase the powers of the existing one. but bringing police from other provinces may not able to produce desired results.
I still remember in early days, when these tribals set out Lashkars to fight with foreign fighters they did acheived some success it is later when Mush decided to side line it ( on foreign pressure maybe) and use Army only.
If police doesn't exist then it is need of the day, changing the status might take long time, problems in FATA requries immediate actions.

^^ true but UPs and DOWNs are not limited to the Textile Sector, almost every sectors have their own cycle and they go through it on regular basis.

I am from Lahore and you can visit it and can ask to purchase a factory by any renowned dealer here and they will tell you dozens of factories along multan road, raiwind side an few at ferozepur size... and these are some big units.. not small 4 stitching machine units...
Definitely without electricity how can one run a factory... Generators is not feasible at all for these factories... with the cut throat competition in the international market you can very well except it...
You go to buy a cloth in any market of Lahore, it will be hard to find Pakistani lawn there... a decade ago there was no concept of foreign lawn for daily use cloth buying... we r not being able to compete in our own market...
Problem is we have not developed any othe sector as strongly to act as a secondary growth market... consumer market is not an answer all especially when u r an agricultural nation with 160 million people to feed.. you ought to be producer... china followed this strategy... and now they r racing ahead in world economy... initially they restricted their people to use cycles and home grown stuff.. and now they don't need to...they develop everything... they didn't go after importing everything ... they knew they won't be able to sustain it...
It is just like that you do nothing and have no job, but you go and take 10 million ruppee loan from the bank and buy a nice house and gr8 car and roam around in the city, and start thinking that you r doing pretty good in comparison to your fellow men.. but don't have ground to stand on for long... how long you will be able to sustain this lifestyle without having a job.?
You are educated and i m sure you will get the right answer...
it is really sad to see my country in such a state... it is had got everything, honestly we r very talentend people and believe me there is no other resource as important as having a talented workforce... and it make me sick that we r wasting it and we r lying to ourselves and we r dishonest to ourselves...

May be its because our cloth is getting exported more than past?

No bank will give you loan (esp of 10million Rs) without a "job" proof or having anything to back the loan (mortgage some asset).
