Looks like a few pairs have been bought by the key people and are being beta tested. Why am I not involved in this exciting venture is a very serious question but let’s stick to the story.
So these glasses as we all know integrate a computerized interface in the vision field of the person wearing them. So you have a suspect in front of you and you can pretty much pull all of his info in ur face! There’s many other uses for it such as recording communication.
This is like SciFi coming to reality yet again (such as what we’ve seen in the Star Treks and such). Very exciting times I must say and glad to be alive in this era of significant change and technological advancement. Would love to experience it for real. Maybe make a trip to NY and get a speeding ticket? Would be so cool to interact with a cop wearing Google Glass.
It's $1500 for the Google Glass. Ticket to NY in an off season is $350. I'll stay with a friend and use her car. So probably spend another $100. Plus I get to interact with NYPD (thrill!). So cheaper and more fun. Just sayin...
I was including the price of family and hotel and stuff. Looked into it once and it was costing more than 1500 for me to take my family to NYC. Not my fault :D
Yep. But knowing Google they will restrict it the way they restricted Nexus series. I hope they dont mess with the glasses the way they missed the mark on Neuxs.
We're hoping the Google Glass would be down to about $400-500 range by summer. And by then the sensitivity towards the Glass would be a lot less too. The current Glass-holes are not doing a good job spreading the cause.
Read somewhere that the fans who adopted google glass are leaving it cause its giving them headaches. Dont know how true this is and if it is its not looking good for google glass.

With OP's kind permission, would like to make following responses.
1) How to be able yo interact with NYYPD.
Easy. I hear African Americans just have to step outside their apartment to throw out the garbage.
2) Cost effectiveness of making trip ti NYC.
If you include carbon emission costs for the trip, conclusion may be differently.
1) I can drive faster than the speed limit and get a ticket. Or park wrong. Or jaywalk. There's a lot of potential :D
2) I go to NY every year for work. I could combine this experience of pleasure with business.
Also, you do realize that I'm just excited about the product and I'm not really going to do 1 and 2 above for this purpose.
Currently, people are able to try out Google Glass by invite only. Just yesterday I found out that my friend's husband in Texas got an invite, and she posted a picture of her teenager wearing it on Facebook.
Hopefully, in the near future, we'd all have ready access to it, and if it is affordable, I'd love to have it. Joel, I'm sure this is what they're doing in this "test" phase, sorting real issues.
