I heard about the homeless in NYC clubbing together to raise US$ 3,000 for a NY policeman who refused to arrest 1 of them. The vagabond was taking refuge in a garage / car park and the policeman on duty did not obey an order by his officer to arrest the guy, saying he (the homeless) had nowhere else to go to protect himself from the rigors of winter. The policeman got suspended without pay for a month and so the solidarity shown by the homeless.
Did anyone read about this? Any further details?
It’s a touching story. The policeofficer has been reinstated back on duty. The group of homeless people raised $3000 by donating their quarters, nickels, and dimes. The officer’s name is Eduardo Delacruz. You can read more about it here:
